Hybrid PV/T Heat Pump System with PCM for Combined Heating, Cooling and Power Provision in Buildings

Hybrid photovoltaic-thermal heat pump (PV/T-HP) solar energy systems are promising since they can achieve a system total efficiency greater than 80%. By maximizing the output of PV/T for simultaneous heating and cooling, this strategy meet over 60% urban households’ needs around 40% their cooling needs. In work, novel evaporator was designed, fabricated, an aluminium foil encapsulated hydrated salt (HS36) PCM integrated with direct expansion (PV/T-DXHP). Energy analysis carried out on PV/T-DXHP in tropical climate regions India achieving net zero buildings. The experimental study revealed that average PV electricity 14.17%, which is near panel’s STC value. thermal 104.38%, system’s overall 117.58%. COPs were 5.73 4.62, respectively. It concluded net-zero buildings possible help photovoltaic use to make electricity, cool spaces, water.
